Just what I was missing!

I just received my F11 yesterday and used it for the first time last night. I was originally intending to get an F6 that I saw at the gym because I was impressed by the timer/BPM/calories burned features, but instead I decided to do some research to find out if it was the best HRM for me. After reading about the features of several different monitors, I decided on the F11 because it had everything I originally wanted and more! I love that you enter all of your personal statistics to get the best readout possible. I love that there is a fitness test on this monitor that helps to make it even more personalized. I love the keeps u fit feature wherein the monitor provides you with a weeks worth of personalized workouts that you can then follow and repeat, or recreate for the next week based on a new fitness assessment. I also love that you can edit your workouts for time and/or heart rate range, or opt to do a basic workout without any preset heart rate goals.
As for last night... it was one of my 30+ min brisk walking nights (I alternate those with gym nights) Wearing my new monitor, I discovered that my usual workout was not doing it for me! I could not get into my proper moderate-hard heart rate zone, no matter how fast I tried to walk! I'm a little too heavy still to jog comfortably, so I skipped : D and it worked! I reached my target heart rate zone and even got to the high end before I would switch back to brisk walking and let my heart rate fall back to the lower end of moderate, then switch back to skipping again to let it rise... etc. I was doing about 2 mins of brisk walking to 1 min of skipping and back. I guess you could call that a form of HIIT (high intensity interval training). At the end of my workout, I had succeeded in all of my heart rate goals... 5 mins in low, 15 mins in moderate, and 10 mins in hard. I am so excited to finally have a tool that can help me reach my fitness goals! Although it takes a bit of perusing the manual to figure it out, I would definitely recommend this HRM.
Oh yeah, and I gave it four stars instead of five because it's a little on the large side for a female wrist, and It could have been made with better materials. As a matter of fact, I'd like to see if I can find a new wristband for it. The rubbery plastic one it comes with makes me clammy/sweaty underneath... but what it lacks in design, it makes up for in function.

Overall, a good watch...my only pet peeve is the adjustment that I needed to do for the strap to fit...the mechanical technology is interesting...the fact that the watch runs by the movement of your wrist is, in my book, great technology...you don't need annoying batteries to run the watch!

The quality of Seiko is always suburb. The only reason this particular watch did not warrant 5 stars is due to being too 'busy' and hard to read or see. The blue color is the problem yet I won't send it back to the back of the drawer for that.

I was so surprised to see this watch on sale, especially through a deal site. I have worn this watch almost daily for the past 6 years and it's become another appendage around my left wrist. I have other watches that I'm ready to "grow up" to, but my Seiko is really an all-purpose watch - it's not too classy, but not too casual. It fits any and every need.
As it's primary function, timekeeping has been precise. The stopwatch function is nice, but after you get past the novelty, it probably won't be used much.
A thing to note is that the date function does not auto-adjust for months with <31 days. So, that still needs to be tweaked by hand.
All in all, a very fine timepiece. If I had another left hand, I would wear one on that one as well.

I love everything about this watch-from the design to the features. I probably won't use it to store telephone numbers, but who knows? The alarm feature with snooze is very helpful. The solar power battery is awesome! My only complaint with my old casio was having to change the battery. A great watch for globetrotters, this Casio men's stainless steel watch (model AW80D-1AV) enables you to easily track to time zones. It features an analog watch face that's supplemented by a digital window at the bottom, which can be set for a second time zone. It also offers a world time function with 29 time zones (30 cities), city code display, and daylight saving time on/off. Other timing features include a countdown timer (up to 24 hours), a 1/100-second digital stopwatch (with elapsed time, lap time, split time, and 1st/2nd place times), and three daily alarms (one with snooze).
Classically masculine, it has a round watch case with gray screw-down accents on the top of the case and a triple-link stainless steel bracelet band. The black dial is supplemented with luminous hands and hour markers, Arabic numerals around the outside of the dial, and small minute indexes. With the 30-page databank capability, you can store phone numbers and quick reminders (with up to 8 letters and 16 numerals per page). Well, this coming August is going to be 5 years wearing, using and abusing this watch. No problems so far with it, the battery is still strong (the backligt feature has not dimmed at all) and water resistance is definitively there. I use it at least once a week for swimming in a pool, and I have taken it a few times for short dives in the ocean. Some people dismissed the data bank feature as "useless" or "a thing of the past" just because we have now so many other devices (blackberries, iphones, even regular cellphones). However, I still use my watch to store critical, usually short information such as alarm passwords (like my office's, which is changed monthly), password combinations for banking, websites, etc. I guess I could use my cellphone for that as well, but in terms of retriving, nothing beats a look at the wrist and pressing a couple of buttons! My only big complain with this watch over 5 years is how easily the crystal picks up scratches. I have to admit that I am partly to blame for that. I've used it on several rough camping trips, and I have no pitty on the watch when it comes to using it...just love it. I hope I can give another update in 5 years, possibly with the battery still alive.

I bought this watch over half year ago. Now I am replacing the watch with a timex.
Well, First off, I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally think this watch looks good. Yes, it is not well balanced overall, but for $20? come on, looks great at that price.
I think the watch had the potential to be great, but it missed a couple of important things.
Durability: The face scratches easy. so be careful. The buttons, well, after this half year I owned it, the buttons started to stick. Now, once in a while the button stays pressed and beeps itself to death. Granted I have taken the watch ocean swimming and exercising. On hindsight, maybe that was not a good idea. But they shouldn't say it is a 50M waterproof watch.
Design: The strap is not very flexible, I have small wrists and they can't quite wrap around my wrist. It works, but not very comfortable.
Utility: Well, I like that it has both analog and digital, the reason why I bought it. But the Interface to change the analog and the usage of the digital part is poorly designed. It is confusing and not very intuitive. I owned a similar timex and I've never had to read the manual. On DST date I always have to search for the manual on this one. That may be my fault for not getting it, but found it counter-intuitive for me. Someone mentioned about the light being useless, well it's kinda true. It is a cheap looking light that is very limited.
Overall, I think that the watch was a ok buy for a cheap watch. I have to say that I expected more from Casio. Considering how long it lasted, it is on the expensive side. But from the looks and features, it seemed cheap at first. I am giving it 3 starts because it may have been my fault. I wouldn't recommend it unless they really liked the design and can't afford something better.

Wonderful design. Easy to read, easy to change functions, no distracting sweep second hand, no stem sticking out, nice light, great alarms, good stopwatch and countdown timer, world time functions, and telephone memos. Classy metal band, reasonable water resistance and a disposable price!

I purchased this watch yesterday at a local store for full price. This is an amazing watch for the money. The back is amazingly detailed, which is not shown in the pictures here. With the price on here, it makes this watch even better for the money. Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice entry-level automatic swiss time piece. You can't find anything better for the money.

Stylish; no-frills watch

My girlfriend bought me this watch as a gift six months ago, and it's been great so far. It's definitely form over function, and lacks any extras. That said, people tend to compliment me on it.
The face could be a little more scratch-resistant- I try to take care of my watches, and this one doesn't look quite new anymore.
As for the reviews complaining of the lack of backlight.. it's annoying, but hardly insurmountable. The screen is extremely reflective, and even in darkened theatres, I've been able to see the time by turning my wrist until it catches whatever light may be floating around.
Haven't had any problems with the band popping out, but if I have to reseat the screws, I'll use a little bit of Thread Locker on them.

This watch is very modern and sleek. Fits snuggly and have not had any problems with the band as of yet. However, i do not wear it daily and only with certain clothing selection. I have gotten many compliments on it.

same problem as 1 star rater harry... it does look cool, but every now and then the watch stops working and nothing appears on the display. i have to push the date button to bring it back and have to reset the time again and again. HOWEVER, MY problem started pretty soon, about 2 weeks (not 5 weeks like harry..) after i got the watch.

5 stars to this product:It looks great, feels awesome, it gives u date, hour & seconds. It has a leather band and digital sistem and it works perfectly. The only downside on this is that you cant see it on dark, althou thats not a problem to me at all.

If you want a cool and modern watch, this should be your choice. Light in weight, confortable, but it does have 1 flaw... It does not have a light.
If you are in a dark place (movies, street at night, etc.) that's it, you can't see the time, it's just like wearing a wide piece of leather on your wrist, so, you better have a backup like your cellphone.
